We build in the countryside!

Liljas Plast Group increases its production and warehouse space in Hillerstorp by 50 per cent. The investments run through the entire group, from Vansbro to China.

- "It's incredibly exciting that we can build so big in Hillerstorp and make a huge investment - again!" says CEO Peter Johansson.

Strong potential for growth

Plans for 3,600 square metres of new production and warehouse space plus an additional 120 square metres of office space were included from the groundbreaking ceremony in 2016. The first extension was made in 2020 and now it is time again.

- "It's a conscious strategy on our part not to invest everything at once but to grow at a reasonable pace. We are a family-owned company that works for the long term and we see that our sales work provides potential for growth in the coming years," says Frida Granstrand, Marketing.

The pandemic shook Swedish industry with greater uncertainty in future forecasts.

- But now we feel very confident. We have incredibly good customers with a product range that has a future. We are growing together," says Peter.

Invests in 2000-tonne injection moulding machine

Growth is evident throughout the Liljas Plast Group.

- We have renovated and invested in all our units and are constantly investing in new technology. I don't think many beat us in terms of the average age of our machinery," says Emil Granstrand, Sales and Project Management.

A new machine cell is on its way to Polymega in Lagan, as well as in Hillerstorp.
At Lilja's Plastic in Suzhou, China, the group's single largest machine investment ever has just taken place in the form of a 2000-tonne injection moulding machine.

- "We have also put solar panels on parts of our plant in China," says Frida.

The drive and investments are not just about premises, machinery and technological development. Organisational development is at least as important, says Frida.

- We have great people and invest a lot in our staff. We want people to thrive here. We're currently recruiting automation technicians, operators, adjusters and a sales/marketing manager to match the growth we see ahead.
